Welcome to Sugar & Salt, a blog about all things food!

I have had a personal blog for the past 7 years but suddenly found myself looking for something new. A glance at my Instagram posts and Facebook shares pointed overwhelmingly to food! I am a self-confessed foodie...maybe even a food addict. I don't think it's an addiction I want to break either.

Whilst I do struggle to eat healthy food sometimes, I believe everything can and should be eaten in moderation - so this blog will have a little of everything!

I am a wife, mother (to three boys, who at times can be quite fussy) and a casual teacher (having just returned to work after a number of years at home). My life is BUSY, so I don't always have the time to cook great meals, but there is nothing nicer than people eating and appreciating what I have created.

I imagine this blog will feature recipes I've tried out, as well as perhaps Instagram photos of simple meals and plated dishes from restaurants I visit. Basically, I just want it to be a place where food lovers can come and get food ideas (and hopefully salivate over some great dishes).

I am not trained in any part of the food industry. I am not an expert in nutrition. I am not great at food photography (although I try my best). What I am is just an ordinary cook who loves to prepare meals and enjoy meals. I'm inspired by my Italian heritage, other food blogs, restaurants I visit and reality shows about food. I'm also inspired by my mum's cooking and the cooking of other friends and family.

Oh, and I have recently become a Thermomix owner! So this blog will feature both traditional and Thermomix recipes - where possible I will try and add both versions.

I hope you in turn also get inspired to try new recipes and visit great restaurants by reading Sugar & Salt. Enjoy :)
